Workshop description:

What do you associate with Europe? What socio-political community are you striving for and where do you locate your commitment? We discuss these questions in our workshops "What kind of Europe do you want?”. We also take a look at the development of Europe after 1945 and Willy Brandt's work for the growing together of European nations.

About the Willy-Brandt-Haus Lübeck:

The Willy-Brandt-Haus Lübeck is the institution for contemporary history in the birthplace of the first social-democratic Federal Chancellor and later recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Whether as a young social democrat, opponent of the Nazis and political refugee or later as a politician in Berlin and Bonn, Willy Brandt’s life-long engagement for democracy remains an inspiration to this day. Unlike few others he changed the Federal Republic and devoted himself to fostering peace and freedom in Europe and the world. Our permanent exhibit concentrates on that political life and enables a fascinating stroll through the history of the 20th century.
