Workshop title: Do “clean cars” exist? - Electromobility, climate justice and extractivism
Sustainable, electric car traffic - finally! But what about the resources that are need for this, where are they exploited? Does that really fit with climate justice?
We will take a look at the global exploitation of resources (e.g. coal, oil and lithium). We will look at what this means for the people and ecosystems in the exploited regions, especially in the Global South. At the same time, we want to establish a link to the global economy, privileged consumption and growth to discuss the question: What approaches of activism can contribute to a real and just transtition?
