This workshop consists of 2 parts.

Workshop title: Building grassroots power through Hip Hop Activism – Part 1 Theory

In this workshop we will have a quick look at Hip Hop history and activism. We will answer the question, why this culture stemming from the most marginalized poor, Black people from the ghettos is well suited to empower and educate oneself and community, and critique, and fight the powers that be! Whether it is decolonial and social justice education, queerfeminist Hip Hop empowerment, or climate and social movement activism – Hip Hop can make it more fun and entertaining. Whether it is through the music, the dance, or style writing/graffiti! We will also try out some of the elements and get to know the Cypher as a learning space.
